HI! WE’RE DEER LODGE.
What’s in our big building on Portage Avenue?
SO MUCH MORE THAN YOU THINK!
Since its transformation from a Veterans Affairs Canada hospital to a provincial facility in 1983, Deer Lodge Centre has become a cornerstone of care in Manitoba. While Veterans continue to receive priority access to personal care beds under a Federal/Provincial agreement, the Centre has expanded its mission to serve adults with complex needs. Today, with a bed capacity of 419, Deer Lodge Centre stands as Manitoba’s largest rehabilitation and long-term care facility, continually setting the bar for excellence.

Jason Alsip
WATCH: Jason Alsip’s journey with the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation began four years ago when a chance meeting on a golf course led him to discover the vital work being done at the Centre. Now, as a dedicated board member, Jason’s commitment to improving healthcare services is evident in every initiative he supports. His story is a testament to how a single moment can spark a lifelong dedication to community and care.

“Deer Lodge Center has this mysterious aura around it because no one is a hundred percent sure of what we do. Or people are misinformed and think that we only do personal care. There’s actually a very broad array of medical services that we provide!”
- Dr. Ashley Bhullar, Medical Lead, Deer Lodge Centre
